/linked was a 2022 exhibition at the IU Southeast Barr Gallery in New Albany, Indiana. Created in collaboration with artist Kacey Slone, the exhibition was about isolation, longing, and connection mediated by technology.
Works such as I/O sessions, a series of risograph prints, were created collaboratively, each artist bringing inspiration and working simultaneously to start and complete the Risograph prints. Output from this exercise became the basis for the founding of our studio, Junior Jr. Riso.
Kacey’s work is often wistful, focusing on missed and failed connections, unanswered longing, and mine is filled with anxiety and noise, considering the imperceivable largeness of institutions of technology.
Together, the work felt very timely as the world “reopened” following the COVID-19 pandemic, and individuals had to reassess the status of their relationships which had continued, failed, or started because of the necessity of the mediation of technology and social media.
